“All rationalism tends to minimalise the value and the importance of life and to decrease the sum total of human happiness.”
–H. P. Lovecraft
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the ability for the human mind to imagine a better world than that in which it exists. The eternal struggle between hope and fear, or love and hatred, is as evident today in the political process of history’s largest empire as it is in any religious text.
Last weekend the media and potential nominees of the two-headed political party pivoted a tragedy of 50 life forces stolen into a professional wrestling match up between the LGTBQ communities versus an entire religion. Donald Trump per usual used blatant, cruel, inflammatory language without too many syllables to provoke fear and anger. He responds to gun violence with the notion everyone should have more guns. He calls for banning Muslims from our nation, despite the villain of this shooting being a US Citizen. Hillary Clinton per usual used coded, deliberate language that once again called for endless war and a profound disrespect for privacy and the law. She too cast aspersions upon an entire religion, and tried to further her long-held strategy of a new crusade against Islam for a business opportunity, as well as her call to action to censor or destroy the internet.
For those of us who don’t share the Trump/Clinton blood-lust, there is additional insult to our injury when fellow so-called liberals try to use tragedies like these to exploit our emotions and tell us we HAVE to unite behind Hillary. The cult-like loyalty to a lesser evil being hardens our resolve to fighting all of these demons, not joining the summoning of the media approved monster in hopes of a few less human sacrifices.
Using fear to control the masses is nothing new, and has been in practice as long as both religion and the concept of governance. It’s an age-old proven tactic, and because of being so will likely work on some of the more weak-minded of our movement, but to a vast majority of us should act as a slap to the face; disrespectful yet providing an awakening. We are in a fight against evil and that includes the lesser of two.
What if, I beg of you to imagine, humanity were better than this? What if we reacted to violence, not with more violence, but with unconditional love? What if instead of dropping bombs, we dropped food and medicine? What if instead of building weapons of war we built infrastructure, hospitals and schools? What if instead of imperialism and death-inducing capitalism, the United States was known for charity and a standard of living for all human beings? I dare say it would be a great deal more difficult to recruit anyone to try to dismantle that sort of United States. I dare say it would easier to sleep at night as an American citizen.
“It is absolutely necessary, for the peace and safety of mankind, that some of earth’s dark, dead corners and unplumbed depths be let alone; lest sleeping abnormalities wake to resurgent life, and blasphemously surviving nightmares squirm and splash out of their black lairs to newer and wider conquests.”
–H. P. Lovecraft
From the dark corners of humanity’s psyche rose a reality show celebrity with a call for nationalism and racial purity. From the depths of the political cesspool, an elder demon humanity defeated just eight years ago again lunged at us in pursuit of corporate world domination. Kneel before oligarchy.
Unite Blue isn’t a call to action. It is a call to submission. Accept the lesser evil and give up your idealism that the system doesn’t have to be corrupt. It’s so corrupt that elections are rigged and figureheads are appointed by the dark alliance of media, military and banking. They give you a show to make you feel like you’re still free, but they control the outcome to make certain you are not. There is no lesser evil. There is one evil with many tentacles.
We see Trump trying to bring forth a new form of fascism, but it is none less scary that the one Hillary continuously advocates for. Her 1984-like call for censorship of our internet, furthering domestic surveillance and history of keeping an enemies list doesn’t make her less dangerous or less evil. If anything, the calculated and cold-hearted drive to enslave the world to the oligarchs makes her more dangerous than Trump, who at best is a buffoon. Both want tyranny. We can’t let either have it.
The only magic spell I know of to drive these dark forces away is to rise up in force against them. I still believe if Bernie Sanders runs, he wins, and humanity has a fighting change to push these demons back to the network sponsored hells they’ve come from. I’m not sure he’ll champion our fight through November, but he’s given me no reason to doubt him yet. No matter what though, we as a movement must stay vigilant in our quest to defeat evil. We have to stand against their cults, their corporate overlords who summoned them and their rise through the two-headed party.
As the hellmouths open this summer in Philadelphia and Cleveland, we need peaceful, loving people, to chant against these demons with such volume that we can be heard on every plane of existence, even to those entrenched in the double-speak lies of television news as their only connection to the world outside their homes. Only then will the cloaked high priest super-delegates of the left head of the party and the evangelical head of the right head of the party awake from their incantation of slumber and recognize what is really going on in this nation. Hopefully it won’t be too late for humanity.
I for one do not wish to be subjugated to the corporate overlords and a new chapter of perpetual war. I for one will resist the call of Unite Blue and will stay steadfast against any and all evil. Lesser evils still bring forth evil. Millions are standing up for goodness. It isn’t too late, if you join us.
Forgive the stylized mumbo jumbo above. These topics are of course much more complex than good versus evil. In a world driven by a media narrative trying to paint it as such, occasionally I like to try to speak on their level, plus I was long overdue to salute Lovecraft. Allow me to be clear, in closing. We’re not about to be enslaved by Cthulhu. We’re about to be enslaved by the 1%.
“It is only the inferior thinker who hastens to explain the singular and the complex by the primitive shortcut of supernaturalism.”
–H. P. Lovecraft
