I was fortunate to try lots of yummy new adult beverages in 2010. These were the best.
Root is an 80 proof whiskey type liquor made from Sarsaparilla, made by an arts collective in Philly. It tastes like root beer. It’s fracking delicious. I’ve had a billion cocktails made with it. The best? Boozy milkshake. (ala root beer float) But chilled over ice is perfect as well.
Up until yesterday, Stranahan’s was Colorado’s best whiskey. Now it’s been bought and will become America’s best whiskey. Clean, delicious, Stranahan’s reminds you why people choose to drink the brown fire water.
I love good porters, and rarely like it when people experiment with traditional porter flavor, but this smokey deliciousness from my local Great Divide Brewing house hit the spot every time I could get my hands on one.
